Flash Sale: Angel of Death Ebook 99 Cents 2/20 Until Midnight

[Cover of Angel of Death: A Victor Storm Novel by T.F. Torrey]

The Amazon KDP Select terms limit the time available for promotions, and the term is coming to a close, and because of the schedule, I need to end this term with a flash sale on Angel of Death.

As you may recall, Angel of Death continues Victor Storm’s journey, following the action as he slowly comes to realize that he has a unique ability to bring justice, and the moral obligation to do it.

My current future plans do not include Amazon’s KDP Select, so this book may never be available at this price again. Don’t miss it!

Get it at Amazon today!

And please, if you like the book, post a review of it on Amazon. Angel of Death is a good book, and it is seriously underexposed. And tell your friends!

Thank you for your support!

The Dancing Queen E-Book 99 Cents 2/10 – 2/16

[Cover of The Dancing Queen: A Jack Trexlor Novel by T.F. Torrey] A long time ago, I listened to “Twilight Zone” by Golden Earring, and the lyrics of a “double-crossed messenger” “somewhere in a lonely hotel room” at “2 AM” spoke to me. I wanted to write that story. Around the same time, the lyrics of “Brandy” by Looking Glass spoke to me, and I wanted to write that story, too. After many years, I actually did sit down to write the story of that guy and that girl. At first, with the protagonist the doorman at a topless bar, the story fizzled. On a whim, I changed the protagonist to the bartender, and made that guy Jack Trexlor from The Desert King, and the story began to sizzle. A few months later, it was The Dancing Queen, a sordid tale of sex and drugs and rock and roll.

And this week, you can get it for 99 cents at Amazon. If you haven’t read it yet, now is the perfect time to get it.

Also, I would appreciate a thoughtful review at Amazon if you can. Amazon sifts through their reviews from time to time for no good reason, and when they do some of mine go missing.

Thanks, and enjoy!

Taxi Adventure E-Book 99 Cents 1/30 – 2/5

[Cover of Taxi Adventure: A Novel by T.F. Torrey] Weird.

I didn’t think of Taxi Adventure as a time capsule when I was writing it. However, the television lineup always changes, and some of the celebrities mentioned in the book are no longer on television here (that I know of), and even the television station talked about is has been bought out by another. And, a couple weeks ago, I noticed that the houses and buildings where Race stops next to Hance park have been bulldozed, and apartments or condos are going up in their place. Even the adult book store where Race picks up a fare in the first chapter is now gone.

If you’ve read Taxi Adventure before, now is a good time to visit the places mentioned in the story—the Westward Ho, Durant’s, Majerle’s, Char’s Has The Blues, Canyon Records, Cooperstown, Postino’s, and more—before the winds of time blow them away.

And if you haven’t read Taxi Adventure yet, you’re in luck. You can get it this week for 99 cents at Amazon. Get it today!

Also, if you like it, please leave a review at Amazon. I need more reviews to enable promotions on other sites, and every one helps. Thanks!

And as always, tell your friends.

The Desert King 99 Cents 1/23 – 1/29

[Cover of The Desert King: A Jack Trexlor Novel by T.F. Torrey] When I was writing The Desert King, decades ago now, I had a mystical experience. Basically, I asked the future me to, if writing The Desert King was the right pursuit for me, give me a sign. Which I immediately got. I mean immediately. So, I buckled down and finished it.

Alas, The Desert King did not find its way to publication that year. Or for many years after. It became hard to understand what the mystical experience might have meant.

Eventually, The Desert King was published, and later I got the rights back and published it myself. Now, ten books and many years but later, I still wonder what that experience meant. At the time, I thought it meant the book would be a monumental success. It wasn’t. But maybe it meant that it would lead to the next book, and the next book, and eventually one book would find a monumental success that never would have happened if I hadn’t started with The Desert King.

Anyway, if you’re still waiting for your monumental experience, you can get The Desert King this week for 99 cents at Amazon.

If you leave a review, you’ll have my perpetual gratitude. And as always, make sure you tell your mysticism-loving friends!

Zombies Versus Comicon 99 Cents Through Sunday 1/22

[Cover of Zombies Versus Comicon: A Novel by T.F. Torrey] Here we go. I’ve committed to a massive action to kick off my 2017, beginning with completing Vampires Versus Comicon quickly and now. That book references the action in Zombies Versus Comicon quite a bit, so if you’re not into spoilers, and you haven’t read Zombies yet, you should get to it.

And right now is the perfect time, because it’s on sale this week at Amazon for the amazing price of only 99 cents. Wow. Time to fight off those zombies!

Also, if you’ve read and enjoyed Zombies Versus Comicon, please leave a review of it at Amazon, to make it easier for others to find, read, and enjoy. Thanks!

The Crazy Jack E-book 99 Cents This Week at Amazon

[Cover of The Crazy Jack: A Jack Trexlor Novel by T.F. Torrey] Maybe with all the preposterous things going on in the world you’d enjoy a story about someone else in a dire dilemma. If so, you’re in luck this week, because until Monday my Jack Trexlor Novel The Crazy Jack is discounted to 99 cents at Amazon. In this brooding and dark story, Jack tries to “rescue” a girl, and it all goes horribly wrong until his whole life has been turned upside down and he’s driving out of town with a body in his trunk. And it only gets worse from there.

My Jack Trexlor books don’t have to be read in order, but if you haven’t read any of them, this is a good one to start with because it establishes the elements that Jack exhibits in the rest of the series.

Also, if you read the book, please leave a brief review at Amazon, where their overaggressive purging seems to eat my reviews once in a while.

Thanks for your time, and happy reading!

Second Wind E-Book FREE Until Sunday

[Cover of Second Wind: An Anthology by T.F. Torrey] It’s a new year, and things are, you may have noticed, an order of magnitude crazier than usual. If, like me, you’re finding it hard to devote long pieces of time to anything, I may have just the thing for you. My latest anthology, Second Wind, is FREE until Sunday. The stories are a mix of serious and silly, and they’re the perfect length for short entertainment breaks.

Note that this book contains many stories that were previously sold separately: Uncle Victor and the Toy Store, On The Beach, Larry Harrison’s Night Shift, and several others. Now, because of a quirk in promotion scheduling, the entire collection of 48 stories is free for what is expected to be the last time ever.

Long Way Home FREE Through Monday

[Cover of Long Way Home: A Ficlet Novelette by T.F. Torrey] Here we are at the end of the year. From my point of view, this year has been a long journey with lots of loss and precious few dividends. It is ironic that one of my few bright spots this year happens to be a book about a long journey with few dividends: Long Way Home. To finish 2016 and kick off 2017, that book is free at Amazon.com through Monday.

If you haven’t read Long Way Home yet, you should check it out. It’s a fun little read, and it ends well. Get it today!

Angel of Death Released

Ready To Read: Angel of Death

[Cover of Angel of Death: A Victor Storm Novel by T.F. Torrey] At long last, I’m very happy to announce that Angel of Death is available to read and enjoy. And unlike previous releases, I’m “going wide” with this one. It is already available at Amazon, Kobo, and Smashwords, and it will soon go live at Barnes and Noble, Apple’s iBooks, and more.

Angel of Death continues the story of Victor Storm after the events in Winter Kills. Here, Victor is trying to get his life back. He’s working on getting help for his PTSD, helping to settle his parents’ estate, finding a new home for himself, and taking classes to figure things out. Unfortunately, he’s also looking for trouble. And finding it.

If you liked Winter Kills, you’ll like Angel of Death.

Discounted This Week

To celebrate the release of Angel of Death for my best fans, I’m pricing it at $2.99 for the rest of this week. I’m embracing Dean Wesley Smith’s pricing philosophy, and the regular price for this book will be $5.99, and it’s certainly worth every penny of that, but get it now at half price!

Q and A

Q. Do I have to read Winter Kills before I read Angel of Death?

A. No, but why not read both? Angel of Death makes reference to things that will be small spoilers if you haven’t read Winter Kills, but either can stand alone just fine. If you are going to read both, buy them now before the prices go up, and read Winter Kills first, because it’s shorter.

Q. Why is this book set in St. Louis?

A. When I traveled across the country by bus (several times), I loved the old St. Louis Greyhound station. Later, when I wanted my vigilante hero to be a reasonable bus ride from anywhere, St. Louis seemed like the perfect place where he would be.

Q. How long will it be until the next Victor Storm story comes out?

A. I’m not sure, but I think I already know what happens in it, so as soon as I run out of more important projects (5-7 from now), it may be next. That sounds like a long time, but it is supposed to be later this year. It should be no longer than next year.

Q. Do you know that no philosophy class would ever be like the one in the book?

A. The philosophy class in the book is not far from classes I have taken. The fundamental problem with the study of ethics sounds like something you’d hear at a bar—and you might—but it’s a well-understood problem nonetheless.

Q. What do I do if I like it?

A. Well, sending me a note saying so would be nice. I don’t get enough of those. More importantly, though, you should write a nice review (it doesn’t have to be long) and post it where you bought it to help like-minded readers find it. Then, tell all your friends.
