Writing In Public: Day 21

Sunday, February 21: Still so happy

I could hardly stop looking at my website today. I am so happy with its current state. And while I did identify some more improvements I can tackle, they are minor and not urgent.

Today kicked off the new NASCAR season with the Daytona 500. We went to visit my parents to watch the race with them. The race was boring, but it’s alway fun visiting my parents. Apart from that, I didn’t push myself because it’s a weekend. And I still feel a little guilty about that.

Writing: Spring Rains

Late in the evening I finally turned my attention to the book at hand. By then, I was too tired to continue the splicing I was doing last. Instead, I wrote new material for some of the later scenes. Victor is in serious trouble, and I don’t know how he’s going to get out of it. Can’t wait to find out.

Total for the day:

  • Fiction words today: 700
  • Weblog words today: 600

I reviewed Dean Wesley Smith’s advice again today on writing at pulp speed. That’s what I want to do. Maybe I will add a tally to the sidebar of this website for motivation, or maybe I’ll set up a beeminder for it. However I do it, I want to do it soon.
