Writing In Public: Day 13

Saturday, February 13: The Last Birthday Party

This morning was the last of four kids’ birthday parties in the last four weeks. I had a good time, though, and it was the first time I’ve had a beer before noon in probably a decade, so that was nice. Unfortunately, my wife is still under the weather, so I didn’t get as much done as I liked, but every little bit helps.

Business: Tool review

Unfortunately, I had the idea today that I might simplify things and thereby improve my process by moving my projects to Scrivener. I don’t remember what set it off, and it’s not the first time I’ve had that notion. I’m not happy about wasting the time, but fortunately it wasn’t much time this time. The result, of course, was further recognition that my current approach and tool set, which are already in place, are perfect for me. Next time, I hope I can remember and/or realize that before I can’t get the time back.

Writing: Spring Rains

I’m still slogging through combining my parts into real scenes, and fortunately that won’t last much longer before I’m back in full writing mode. And when I get back there, I should have a complete sense of the story, and the rest of the book should just flow. I hope so.
