Writing In Public: Day 11

Thursday, February 11: Wrench, meet works

Today I had to take my daughter for her five-year-old checkup, and for some reason I had made the appointment for the worst possible time: 2 PM. Hilarity ensued.

Business: Accounting

I need to file some paperwork, so I needed to create some accounting reports. I’ve needed to upgrade my accounting practices for a long time, so I looked into that. What a pain and time-hole that is. In the end, I think I decided to use GNU Cash. It isn’t too difficult, but figuring out how to do things is really difficult for some reason.

Writing: Spring Rains

Knowing that I had accidentally clunked up my afternoon, I tried to get daily business done in the morning—instead of writing new words. Later, my recent spate of super-late nights and early mornings caught up with me, and I was too tired to think straight enough to get much done. In the end, I had to give up after only about 500 words, many of which don’t look right to me.

  • Fiction words today: 500
  • Weblog words today: 200

I need to get some rest and get back to it in the morning.
