Happy birthday to me
Monday was my birthday, and I needed a new phone plan. I’ve had an idea for a while that I should have my computer for my serious work, and my phone for everything else, everything from e-mail to e-book reading to entertainment. And furthermore, I think it would be awesome if I had access to my current work project files on the phone, so that in a pinch I could use a Bluetooth keyboard or even my fingers to dig some words out of the word mine. This has been my idea for a long time now. Over a decade.
And now it is the time to try it. Metro PCS has plans with unlimited Internet starting at $30, and when I went to sign up, I discovered that they had a phone with a screen only slighter than my Amazon tablet for only $99.
Well, happy birthday to me.
By noon I had the new phone and plan, and I spent the rest of the afternoon moving into the phone. It’s too soon to see how well it will work, but it looks like my decade-old dream of having all my files on a computer in my pocket so I could have them securely with me and work on them wherever I want might finally be coming true.
In the evening, I went off to do some side work, and another day’s possibilities ran out.
I was running on only 3.5 hours of sleep all day. When I got back from the side job, I tried to turn my attention to Taxi Adventure, but I couldn’t do it.
Nonetheless, it will be done soon. Probably this week.
