It’s been eight months since my last overhaul of this site. At the time, I was proud of the new design, and I thought it fit my needs well. As the months have passed, however, it has turned out that my weblog plan didn’t work very well, and the site seemed stale and stagnant–probably because it was.
Now, as you may have noticed, WordPress is back serving up the pages. When I gave up WordPress months ago, it was slow on my server, and worst of all I had no way of fitting its content into my workflow. Now I’m on a new host, and WordPress is snappy. Even better, my new project-based system of organization integrates well with the WordPress system. Plus, WordPress is now two versions better, and I really like the new features. WordPress is better, my host is better, my system is better. Welcome to the future.
Well, welcome to the site that’s becoming the future. I’ve completed the first two phases of the transition, but the third phase has a lot in it, and there will be dust settling for a while. I don’t think anyone will mind.
Hopefully this means I’ll be posting more content more often. I have some new ideas about the function and purpose of this site, and my current vision is for it to become a dynamic hub for things worth reading.
Let me know what you think of the new design, and stay tuned for new content … and new books!
